Setup | Troubleshooting

The following are step-by-step instructions for configuring your e-mail in Outlook 2000 for Windows for the Access US network. If you have any questions or difficulties, please feel free to contact Technical Support.

 

setup procedure
  1. Launch Outlook 2000.
    Click Tools at the top of the screen.
    Choose Accounts... from within the drop down menu.



  2. Click the tab labeled Mail.
    Click the button labeled Add on the menu to the right.
    Choose Mail from the menu that pops up.



  3. In the field labeled Display Name:, type your name as you would like it to appear on email you send to others.
    Click Next at the bottom of the screen.



  4. In the field labeled E-mail Address:, type in your full e-mail address.
    Click Next at the bottom of the screen.



  5. The top box should read POP3.
    In the field labeled Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server:, type in mail.accessus.net all in lowercase.
    In the field labeled Outgoing mail (SMTP) server:, type in mail.accessus.net all in lowercase.
    Click Next at the bottom of the screen.



  6. In the field labeled Account Name type in your full e-mail address.
    In the field labeled Password type in your password.
    Click Next at the bottom of the screen.



  7. Place a solid dot in the front of the field labeled I will establish my connection Internet manually
    Click Next at the bottom of the screen.



  8. Click Finish at the bottom of the screen.



  9. Click Properties from the menu to the right.



  10. Click the tab labeled Servers at the top of the screen.
    Put a checkmark in the field labeled My server requires authentication near the bottom of the screen.
    Click OK at the bottom of the screen.
    Click Close on the window labeled Internet Accounts.
    Close Outlook 2000.
    When you next reopen Outlook you should be able to send and receive mail.
