All configurations on the CLEC's equipment will be confirmed to be correct.
You may be contacted for a conference call with an Access US support tech
and CLEC tech to run coop testing. You will need to be at the location
of the DSL router to do these tests. The tests usually take no longer
than 10 minutes. The CLEC will run a Short and Open test on your line
while on the phone. The first test is the Short and requires you to unplug
the cable from CLEC wall jack. This test will take around four minutes
to run by the CLEC. The second test is the Open and requires you to plug
the cable back into the wall jack and disconnect the cable from the router.
The open test will also take about four minutes.
A support tech will only contact you for testing if your line is straight
copper, which requires the same testing as SDSL. Most IDSL lines will
have ILEC supplied BRI cards and ADTRANS. The support tech can do testing
over theses lines remotely with the CLEC to ensure that all of the elements
on the line can be seen. When testing is complete the support tech and
the CLEC tech will be able to isolate the location of the problem and
either resolve it remotely or request a dispatch to the cause of the problem.
Before testing, please ensure that all phone devices are filtered and that the DSL modem
is properly connected. The main testing performed is with the CLEC. This testing consists
of an open and closed loop test. Once these test results are complete, it may be sent to the
ILEC, CLEC, or dispatch for repair. All dispatches are billable if fault is found inside the
house (faulty internal wiring, bad cable, etc.).
