To change the VPI/VCI on the Alcatel SpeedTouch Home you will need to change your computer’s Local Area Network IP address settings to the following:

IP Address: 10.0.0.2
Subnet Mask:
255.255.255.0

Once you make this change and reboot the computer (if necessary) open up a telnet program (Secure CRT, HyperTerminal, etc.) and connect to the IP address below:

10.0.0.138

This will bring up a User: prompt, press enter to continue. Next you will see a text logo with a => beneath it.

Next to the prompt symbol (=>) type in atmf flush and press enter.

When the prompt symbol appears again type in phonebook and press enter. This will change the prompt to [phonebook]=> indicating you are in the phonebook section.

Next to the new prompt type add this will take you below the prompt and ask you several questions.

The first question is name. Next to this type in AUS and press enter. The next question is addr. Next to this type in 0*35 and press enter. The third question is type. For the type enter bridge and press enter. After these questions it will display the prompt again. Type exit and press enter to continue.

Now you should see the original prompt sign (=>). Type bridge next to this and press enter.

This will take you to the bridge configuration mode, indicated by the new prompt symbol [bridge]=>. Next to this prompt type in portadd and press enter. You will be asked several questions, just as before.

The first question is dest type AUS next to this and press enter. The second question is [proto] next to this type llc (this is LLC not iic) and press enter. The last question is [vc_mux_lcs] next to this type off and press enter. This will take you back to the bridge configuration prompt.

Type save and press enter. You should now see the original prompt. Type exit and press enter.

You have now completed the settings changes necessary to utilize your Alcatel SpeedTouch Home on the new DSL connection.
