To change the VPI/VCI on the BritePort you will need to change your computer’s Local Area Network IP address settings to the following:

IP Address: 192.168.1.2
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

Once you make this change and reboot the computer (if necessary) open up a web browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator, etc.). In the address bar type in this address:

http://192.168.1.1/

This will bring up the BritePort introduction screen. Once you see this screen, click on the Configuration link.

Once you click on the Configuration link it will prompt you for a username and password. The Username field should remain blank and the password should be 8010. Once these are entered click on OK.

After the username and password are entered correctly, you will see the VPI/VCI settings screen. The VPI field MUST BE 0 (number zero). The VCI field MUST BE 35. Once these are changed click on Next.

The next screen displayed is the IP address setting page. Do not change anything on this page, just click Next.

The next screen is the Settings Summary page. Make sure that the VPI is 0 and the VCI is 35. Click on Finish.

Once you click on Finish it will bring up a page informing you that the BritePort is rebooting. Do not turn the modem off while it is rebooting.

Once the BritePort is finished rebooting it will display a page to confirm the settings were changed. When this page is displayed, the setup is complete.

When the setup is complete change your IP address settings back to the original settings to begin surfing the internet.
